| This Basque beauty hails from the colony world of Thermidor IV where she works as a fisheries biologist for the aquaculture industry. With a dual PhD in Marine Biology and French Literature Ms. Desman has turned down membership in Mensa citing their low standards and her desire for more substantive recognition of her talents. She sets her sites high. With five degrees, two humanitarian awards and world-wide scientific recognition for her work on Pyrenees' crustaceans, she's finally received the ultimate validation by being named StarPets' Miss September. She spends much of her day diving in the icy mountain streams: "Cold water is so refreshing!" Thanks, Delores, but we'll just stand on the shore and watch. Her greatest desires are universal peace and "a really good microwaveable paella". |
Miss October is a graduate student at the University of Hawaii at Mānoa where she is finishing up her PhD in entomolgy. When not researching the ins and outs of the insect world, this Vietnamese charmer works as a forest ranger and part-time lifeguard in her native land: "Being diurnal has advantages. It leaves my nights free for fun!" Is it true what they say about shrews? "Well, Shakespeare definitely gave us a bad name, but I still like his prose." "On the other hand" she says with a disarming wink: "tupaia aren't true shrews." In either case, our hats are off to the man who can tame this fiery filly. |
Miss November is a typical California gal who enjoys surfing, skating, and modulating magnetic flux density for CalPower's Fusion 6 plant in Santa Monica. "I'm really into the lifestyle" says this Cal Tech honors grad with a PhD in Fusion power generation. "It's all about keeping the lights on in an eco-friendly way." When she's not running Western North America's largest fusion plant, this California cutie heads back home to the desert where she spends her time hiking and soaking up the abundant sunshine: "I love the desert. It's so peaceful and healing." We can only hope that this doctor makes house calls. |
Miss December hails from frosty Thule, Greenland where she works as a glaciologist for the UN commission on global warming. When not drilling for ice core samples; ("Its pretty boring work" she says with a mischievious smile) this viking vixen can be found indulging in her hobbies of kayaking and cliff diving. How does she while away those long winter nights? Mostly catching up on the latest research, playing video games, and snuggling. Is it true about the mass suicide rumors? "The only mass movement we go on is when the flights open up to Baltimore in the spring. The mad shopping rush at the Inner Harbor can be a bit frantic." Whatever the rumors may say, one thing is certain; this arctic angel sure knows how to heat things up. |
